Getting started

Guild Ledger audits every change in your Discord server, runs approval workflows, and keeps a per-guild financial ledger — all from a small set of slash commands.

1. Add the bot

Add Guild Ledger to your server from the Discord App Directory. You need the Manage Server permission in the server you're adding it to.

2. Run /setup

On a new server, /setup asks just four questions — what the server is for, where alerts go, who your staff are, and whether you track a currency — then previews every change and saves it all at once:

  • Server type — pick one or more archetypes (⚔️ Moderation, 💰 Economy, 🏘️ Community) that choose smart presets for everything else
  • Alerts channel — the one genuinely required field
  • Staff roles — approvers, plus treasurers if you track a currency
  • Economy opt-in — skipped automatically if you picked the 💰 Economy archetype

Every run after first-run opens a health dashboard — live diagnostics with one-click fixes, quick-enable rows, a permission preflight, and a test-alert button. See the /setup docs for the full walkthrough, and use /config to revisit any setting at any time.

3. Learn the command surface

Free vs. Pro

The free tier covers audit logging, moderation tools, up to 2 active approval forms, polls, the core ledger, and member wallets. Guild Ledger Pro unlocks unlimited forms, higher caps, wallet interest and budgets, scheduled reports, webhooks, ledger automation, and per-event alert routing. Pro features are marked 🔒 throughout these docs.
